All winter I spent dreaming about leaving behind the cold walks in the rain for walks in the sunshine. For trading Indoor doggie games with backyard/dog park activities. In my mind it was going to be sunshine and lollipops.
And it has been great but life has a way of keeping it balanced. Enter Baby Birds! Yep, Spring brings about lots of baby birds! It's not the protective mamma birds I'm worried about but my pack bringing out their inner wolf! One week into spring, my pack, discover and destroyed a black bird nest in my backyard. Out of three chicks my Mr O delivers the only featherless survivor! Baby Bird aka BB survived with great odds against her. Instead of long walks it become quick walks, baby birds need to eat every 20 minutes! I learnt my lesson that day. Before releasing the hounds into the yard, I will be taking the time to investigate the bushes and trees in my backyard each day for any signs of baby birds and fledgling.
